Commission a Portrait
Commissioning a portrait is a very personal experience. A lot of thought and consideration goes in to every step of the process, both for the sitter and the artist. If you’re interested in working together, we can set up a phone call or meeting at my studio or your home to discuss the process more in depth. We will go over your thoughts and expectations for the piece, as well as the location, composition, medium, size, and estimated time frame for completion. A commission typically takes three to four months to finish, although it can take longer depending on size and complexity of design.
Once we agree on these details, I will send over a fully detailed project proposal and contract. When this has been signed, I will confirm the location and date of the photo shoot for the portrait. The shoot will take roughly an hour and a half, and then together we can select which image will be used for the art work. At this time, you will pay a deposit for half the total agreed upon price. This payment is non-refundable. As I work on the final piece, I will be in contact periodically to make sure we are both on the same page and it is coming out exactly as you envisioned.
